What is KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also known as “double chin.” When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells resulting in a noticeable reduction of fullness under your chin.

What can I expect with a KYBELLA® Injection?

If you are interested in seeing if KYBELLA® is the right treatment for you, a consultation is required so that we can make a full assessment and recommendations that will help you achieve your aesthetic goals. During the consultation, it is important to tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • Have had or plan to have surgery on your face, neck or chin
  • Have had cosmetic treatments on your face, neck or chin
  • Have had or have medical conditions in the neck area
  • Have had or have trouble swallowing
  • Have bleeding problems
  • Are pregnant, or if you plan to become pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed
  • Are taking any medications, especially blood thinners

Treatments can only be administered by a KYBELLA® trained specialist, which is why Dr. Nazareth performs all KYBELLA® procedures in our office.

Prior to your treatment, you will receive numbing injections under your skin. It will take 15-20 minutes for the numbing to take effect.

After receiving a KYBELLA® injection you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. This can last several days or up to a week.
